Upper Fernwood Estate in Newlands is a suburb known for its exciting tension. It is home to some of the country's most classic and modern homes, alongside some of the most revered natural vistas and protected ecology in the southern hemisphere. The drama of its surroundings amplifies the contemporary design of this home, the Table Mountain Nature Reserve. The interior material palette of the architecture is in continuity with the natural mountain reserve views. The off-shutter concrete shear walls resemble the towering Table Mountain's rock face, which forms a backdrop to the house.
