Project Hunter’s Way is a mountain retreat designed for comfortable country living in Hout Bay. Given the challenge of a south-facing orientation, we incorporated passive solar design strategies to ensure a comfortable home throughout the year without sacrificing the stunning northern mountain range views. A strategically positioned entrance courtyard captures ample north sunlight during the colder winter months when the days are shorter, and the sun’s warmth is at a premium. Double glazing and insulation prevent heat loss and improve thermal performance, contributing to the home’s comfort.
