Castellano Beltrame Inspired luxury.
“Whether a city apartment, a beach house, a country property, or a traditional home, the trimmings add a touch of magic and exuberance. This element of spark and spontaneity is what makes it sing,” says the company, which has been in operation for over 45 years.
Castellano Beltrame’s range of products includes fringes, single and double tiebacks, rope tiebacks, key tassels and chair ties. They also manufacture furniture trimmings such as bullions, braids, borders, gimps, rouches, cords and lip cords.
As interior designer Chris Carroll notes: “People often think of fringe furniture and accessories as having a very retro look and feel. This is true; it has a little of that vibe. But a lot of the latest releases are feeling far more modern.”“Now, fringe decor and furniture are taking homes in a luxe direction, or a coastal/boho one. So if you have either style playing out at your place, these homewares finds are yours for the taking!”
Of course, nothing beats the luxe appeal of velvet-upholstered furniture with a fringe trim, so don’t be afraid to max out on this hot trend come the new year.
Just remember, for this look to work, “you gotta let the fringe piece be the star of the show,” Chris says. “Keep surrounding colours fairly subdued, but rock some gold or brass metallics alongside marble in pieces like coffee and side tables.”
Of course, fringes and tassels work equally well on a smaller scale – think scatter cushions, throws and lampshades for a more subdued touch.
