Louis Vuitton Hotel London in Mayfair: A Journey Through Design

There is a certain romance to the idea of travel – not just the act itself, but the rituals, objects, and memories it leaves behind. In Mayfair, this sensibility takes on a spatial form with the Louis Vuitton Hotel London, where Louis Vuitton translates over a century of travel heritage into an immersive, temporary setting that feels both familiar and unexpected.

Opened on 24 April at 28 Berkeley Square, the ephemeral concept unfolds as a series of rooms, each drawing on the House’s most iconic creations. The journey begins in the Keepall Lobby, where the codes of the 1930s travel bag are reinterpreted through material and detail. Durability and refinement are expressed spatially, setting a tone that is both grounded and quietly luxurious, while care and repair services introduce a more practical dimension to the narrative.

Upstairs, Café Alma offers a pause within the experience. Overlooking Berkeley Square, it brings together seasonal British flavours with the ritual of afternoon tea – a subtle dialogue between Parisian sensibility and London context. Nearby, Bar Noé introduces a shift in atmosphere, transitioning from a daytime champagne setting into a more animated evening destination shaped by curated music and a refined cocktail programme.

Throughout the hotel, individual rooms act as chapters within a broader story. The Speedy Room reflects movement and modernity, while the adjacent Speedy Safe Room presents a more theatrical moment, showcasing Pharrell Williams’ reinterpretation of the iconic bag in LV Buttersoft leather within a gold-toned setting that heightens its material presence.

At the top of the building, the Neverfull Gym offers a final, unexpected gesture – a playful, mirrored installation that reimagines strength and versatility through form rather than function.

Across each space, the approach remains understated yet intentional: an exploration of how objects can become environments, and how the language of travel can be reinterpreted through design, atmosphere, and experience.
