Happy Heritage/Braai Day!
We all know what Heritage Day is all about, and we know that we love to braai… buy why do so many refer to it as Braai Day?
In 2007 Archbishop Desmond Tutu, while addressing the initiative of Braai Day, said: “this has a wonderful potential to bring us all together… we have 11 different official languages but only one word for the wonderful institution of braai.”
The purpose of Heritage Day is first and foremost to celebrate our history and the cultures passed on to us by our ancestors. The idea of Braai Day hopes to inspire the further celebration of our common roots, in recognition of the “South African culinary tradition of holding informal backyard braais.” This reminds us that although we are so diverse in our different cultures, we can still be unified.
We don’t need to remind you that Chad-O-Chef need little convincing to have a braai, but this is a tradition that we hold close to our hearts. We pride ourselves in the production of quality products that are everything that ourselves and our customers would like to see in a good Braai.
Gas Burning:
This is where we started on our journey 37 years ago. Our Tabletop, Drop-In and Built-In braais offer a stylish variety of quality and convenient everyday cooking.
Hybrid Burning:
The Hybrid Braai was released in 2016, which revolutionised the braai industry in South Africa. With the ability to now braai using wood, charcoal, gas, or smoker chips at will, you have the option for quick cooks or longer, more eventful cooks. This was followed by the Sizzler-Hybrid attachment for a modular upgrade to an already existing Sizzler Gas braai.
Wood Burning:
Our latest addition is the Boma Braai, launched at the beginning of this year. Another first of its kind, the Boma Braai is a fantastic addition to any social event. This braai can cater for a small family to a large crowd and can cook a large variety of meals with its open grid, flat grid and potjie aperture.
