Springlights
Founded in 2011, Durban-based Springlights offers lighting solutions for the modern home.
From chandeliers to lamps, Springlights stocks a wide selection of over 500 light fittings that can be viewed and purchased at their showrooms in Umhlanga or Hillcrest or online.
Apart from the wide selection on offer, their knowledgeable team is also on hand to answer any queries and help with choosing the correct fixture.
“We saw that often lighting stores only display a limited number of lighting options and that to source the information needed to make the correct lighting choice was technically complicated and intimidating. We wanted to offer a solution to this and provide an environment where customers can see what they are buying and where no question is too simple,” they say.
“Lighting and lighting bulb choice creates different effects in different rooms. It will enhance the colour of your decor, provide warmth and atmosphere and can be used to separate and easily identify different zones within your home,” the company further explains.
All of this, of course, is why choosing the correct fitting is so important. Luckily, the company’s lighting design team is also on hand to guide clients and provide free lighting designs.
Customers can also look to them for design inspiration. Their work includes some prestigious projects that showcase the most beautiful statement lighting designs.
One such project is House Acute in Durban. “This house was designed around the lights, rather than the other way around,” Springlights explains. “Most of the feature lights were selected by the owners who knew exactly what they wanted from the word go. From suspended LED panels at the entrance, artisanal pendants to chandeliers, they are positioned as showpieces.”
Springlights also created an atmosphere of luxury in the main suite by mounting chandeliers on either side of the bed and created a unique design for the wine cellar.
“The main highlight of this beautiful house is the wine cellar with exquisite glass pendants which is complemented with vintage bulbs.”
