Technology Fuorisalone Award 2024, Cosentino

Winners of the Technology Fuorisalone Award 2024, Cosentino beat giants such as Google, Samsung and Kia on the innovation front this year when it walked away with the prestigious prize for its immersive exhibition at Milan Design Week.

Recognising “projects that innovate by restoring a balance between humans and their environment, using technology as a central factor in protecting the planet”, the award went to Cosentino’s EARTHIC® LAB exhibition created in partnership with Formafantasma. Challenging the conventional approach to design by emphasising the significance of production processes over mere aesthetic appeal, the goal of the exhibition was to take visitors on a transformative journey, showcasing the production process of the new EARTHIC® surfaces collection and highlighting the importance of sustainable design.

The installation offered visitors a first look at the company’s EARTHIC® by Silestone®XM surfaces range, a new-generation collection of sustainable surfaces composed of up to 30 percent unconventional and recycled materials and a maximum of 10 percent crystalline silica. The product boasts a unique aesthetic from its production process, embodying Cosentino and Formafantasma’s vision of a sustainable surface that does not compromise quality and performance.

EARTHIC® by Silestone®XM will be available from May 2025.
