Fabri: A Sustainable Approach

Since 1983, Fabri has cared about the impact it makes as a company on the environment. For many, sustainability has become a buzzword, but for Fabri, it is a way of doing business as the brand feels a strong responsibility toward the environment and future generations.

Throughout the years Fabri has been implementing several measures in all areas of the company in order to control the environmental impact of its showrooms and factory. Their intent is to work only with companies that guarantee the lowest environmental impact possible. They do this by controlling all suppliers and partners.

Recycling and Waste Management

The aim is always to reduce waste and use materials responsibly. As such, Fabri has opted for the suppression of several disposable materials and the creation of several recycling stations. This has subsequently allowed the reduction of waste at their facilities.

Waste management is carried out by several entities specialized in waste recycling. Items made available for recycling purposes include paint cans, wood remains, plastics, paper and cardboard, water and paint filters. Supervision and compliance are a top priority and the company adheres to several rules, with the aim of making less and less environmental impact. For example, controlling and reducing CO2 emissions.

With the implementation and compliance of these and more environmental practices, Fabri has been awarded an active environmental responsibility certificate by Carmona in 2020 and 2022.

Kitchens and Closets

Fabri’s raw material suppliers are certified entities. This subsequently assures that materials come from forests that are managed in a responsible and sustainable way. This also means that its transformation process and transport are done in a way that produces the lowest environmental impact possible.

“We want to ensure that the production chain of each kitchen and closet, from the choice of the materials to its installation, has a minimal environmental impact.”

Expedition and Transport

All furniture is made from waterproof (water and moisture resistant) and impact-resistant materials. This allows it to be transported without packaging. These changes have allowed the company to reduce the number of unnecessary cardboard packages and plastic strapping used in excess packaging.

These measures result in less waste on sites, fewer trips for waste collection, and less environmental impact. As such, it further ensures that Fabri’s high-quality standards are being met.

Fabri therefore only use packaging for cabinet doors as a protection measure. These packages don’t require plastic straps and come from a recycled origin and can be recycled again. The plastic tapes have therefore been replaced by paper tapes, which makes these tapes recyclable.

These changes ensure that packaging is recyclable. Furthermore, it guarantees the existence of a circular economy based on the reduction, reuse, recovery and recycling of materials.

Fabri in the future

Since its foundation, Fabri has innovated through design, quality, functionality, elegance and now sustainability.

A responsibility and constant concern lead the brand to continually seek to improve its kitchens and closets, through innovation and the development of new processes, materials, components and accessories. Both at Fabri and from suppliers, the goal is that each piece of furniture has a higher percentage of recyclable material.

The aim is to reduce CO2 emissions through evolutions and improvements in the factory and fleet. Furthermore, this leads to the goal that it can be 100% sustainable, powered by clean, renewable energies.
