How is it smokeless?

Oxygen is drawn from the bottom into the double wall chamber, then rushes out below the rim. The rapid movement of air combusts with the leftover carbon, burning off the smoke that would otherwise have the entire group playing musical chairs against the wind. How did it all begin?

The Smokeless product you see today was the brainchild of two South African natives, Barry Hulley and Glen du Preez. Glen has a background in engineering and digital design while Barry, an innovative farmer, uses his creative problem-solving skills to make his work (and life!) more efficient. The concept for the Smokeless unit you see today came from one of Barry’s many farm solutions; he was looking for a way to braai very easily, efficiently, and quickly while he was on the move. Glen and Barry quickly realized that his design for a small braai unit would burn smoke-free because of its fan-assisted design. They set out to perfect the design, ideally creating a smoke-free burn without the need of a fan, and to do so on a much larger scale. Now years later, after many hours and many prototypes, we have the unit you see today.
