Plascon House Tour: Scandi Living
Minimalist design does not have to be limiting. In fact, this immaculate Scandinavian styled abode oozes character and fine details that make it a haven of luxury and class.
As is customary in most Scandi-inspired spaces, a white palette adds a freshness and zeal for life. Bright, open spaces are infused with beautifully curated pieces that add charm, warmth and even a rustic ‘lived-in’ ambiance that makes the style such a relaxed yet beautiful design for modern living. In this simplistic study area, decked in white, it is the natural tones of wood that bring depth and interest in this space. A vintage door adds a sense of history and old-world, yet juxtaposed against a modern white desk, and the overall look is contemporary and sophisticated. Scandi living is also all about a play of textures – and here we see how wood (raw and treated) blends in with a beautiful fur throw, animal-skin rug and light fabric chandelier. Simple and understated – yet elegant in every way. The whitewashed palette continues through to the living space, where high ceilings add depth and a monochromatic palette creates a harmonious living environment. We love the soft wooden tones of the flooring, paired with beautiful white pottery and custom cabinet with roll-out crates for easy access. On the other end of this room, a full-length wall covering makes for a dramatic inclusion. A trendy grey sofa lines the wall and comfort is evidently key here with a plush fur throw that again adds texture and warmth to the space. The bedroom comes alive in soft textiles and drapes that are immaculate in white. A stunning beaded chandelier cascades above the master bed and again, a very simple yet stylish colour scheme of white creates a clean, dynamic bedroom that is most definitely the epitome of Scandi living.
