Plascon House Tour: Rustic Madrid
This 200m2 Madrid apartment is centred around a rustic family-style kitchen completely kitted out in charming greys, white and warmer timber tones. The overall feel of this residence is rustic chic with a few quirky touches and splashes of modern colour to keep things interesting.
Modern hatches with wood and wire mesh add interesting storage in this rustic kitchen space. Open shelving along the walls further create the ideal place to display kitchenware and bring in a sense of authenticity as a lived-in family kitchen. A farm-style kitchen table with a few wooden stools completes the vintage ambience of this space, although modern touches, such as white subway backsplashes and beautiful contemporary grey cabinetry, add a more sophisticated and modern touch here.
We love the modern use of interior architectural windows that connect the different spaces of this home. In the dining area, an oversized rustic raw wood table is striking in its simplicity. A display cabinet in the distance brings in some colour with pops of green glassware, white crockery and woven baskets.
The lounge area has a more modern feel to it with a customised TV unit and bookshelf space which the owner has used to display some of their collections and interesting artwork. Roll up blinds and modern white sofa systems add to the contemporary feel of this space. A gorgeous area rug adds a pop of colour and unites the accent tones in the room, also connected to the colourful use of scatter pillows and modern art in this room.
