Plascon House Tour: Rural Christmas
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! This rustic Canadian home celebrates the joy of the season through the subtle incorporation of festive decor that is ideal for Christmas! The overall look is simple, unrefined and rural!
In true rural form, the owners have opted for a rustic and natural approach to Christmas celebrations and decor this year. An unadorned and natural Christmas tree is perfectly poised on the patio while a rustic and natural wreath is presented above a simple bench with metallic star. The exterior is simple yet stylish – the perfect decor for a rural, rustic abode. Similarly the interior takes on a minimalist style with natural wooden furnishings that complete a ‘mud room’. Crates with lettering hints at the different family members, each with their own unique storage compartments in this space. A rustic bench and a few metal hooks finish off this simple space which is a transitioning room between the indoors and outdoors. This space hints at this being a family home. There is even a special spot for the family dog with a nook for its food and water. The living room is bright and airy, with muted tones that are timeless and sleek. A modern grey sofa is dominant here, along with a rustic, varnished wooden coffee table – the richness of the wood adding character and warmth to this space. Comfortable living is emphasised here with a few soft scatters and area rug that add a level of ease and comfortability. The bedroom is equally bright, minimalist and calming. There is a real sense of easy living here, with minimal decoration and a beautifully crisp and tranquil white interior space. The wooden panels in the ceiling and walls adds to the rustic cottage vibe of this home and modern hardwood floors add depth and colour into this otherwise neutral space. We love the industrial pendants used in the bathroom, along with a rustic wooden mirror that adds a new dimension to this space. Modern cabinetry and matte black tiled floors add a contemporary feel and here again, a simple wooden star with greenery hints at the festive season! Contact: Plascon Via
