Plascon House Tour: A Renewed Blacksmith Renovation
There is something magical about the calming tones and raw finishes of this converted Blacksmith warehouse in Lesbos, Greece. Without losing the character of the original building, there is an open, uncluttered and Scandi feel about this place which evidently draws its strength from nature and the use of raw materials.
Earthy tones and a clean, neutral colour scheme are the hallmarks of the design of this Greek residence. Once a warehouse, the building is now a creative residence and living space. The original structure was kept in place during this remarkable renovation, yet there is a feeling of refreshment and renewal after designers made way for a more contemporary layout. With a clear affinity towards industrial elements, this house boasts a bold display of natural wood, copper piping, high ceilings, beams and concrete finishes that are intrinsic to the industrial style movement. This innovative kitchen space ticks all the right boxes with a beautifully clad feature wall in solid wood and brass fixtures that add depth of tone here. We also love the raw concrete flooring that adds depth and richness to this space. The bedroom too comes alive in earthy tones, with a fascinating display of wooden beams, like a 3D artwork, which is suspended above the room. The raw wood adds character and seems to create an interesting contrast against the modern wood cabinetry which neatly houses the main bed. The unit is stylishly simple and contemporary – a nifty addition in this modern space with ample space for storage. Contact: Plascon Via
