Plascon House Tour: Remix of a Rustic Rental
This British-Colonial-style house in Kenya features many elements of rustic chic. Having moved from Chicago to Nairobi, these homeowners had to use their imagination and the local decor available to remix this stylish rental.
This Colonial’s exposed beams and throwback touches beg for colouring and patterns, which has been achieved with blankets, throws and warm rugs. By injecting eye-catching pieces with color and pattern, the design disparities have faded away and all that’s left is a cozy nest for the growing family. Vaulted ceilings create a many-layered effect. We love the exposed wooden beams and terracotta tiling. This plays off beautifully with a neutral interior.
