Plascon House Tour: Monochromatic Wonder
Today’s New York townhouse is beautifully simple and captivating in its uncomplex design and elegant style. In a restrained palette of white and black, this home is minimalist, stylish and relaxing – a perfect retreat within the concrete jungle of New York City.
The living space feels light and welcoming in shades of white with dramatic black drapes that cascade from high ceilings for added intrigue. White sofas and full-length windows add to the feeling of space, brightness and a sense of cosy living here. We love the customised built-in bookshelf for added drama in this elegant living area, as well as the oversized paper chandelier. The darker shades of the drapes are unmistakable and bold, adding visual appeal and breaking up an otherwise sterile room in shades of white. Carefully curated items are neatly positioned in this space, including a brown velvet chair with books, creating a lovely little reading nook adjacent to the window. The room also boasts a richness of texture and wooden tones that bring warmth and relaxation to this space. A plush area rug adds comfort here and a beautiful antique mirror adds old-world charm. The same minimalist restraint is evident in the kitchen where a neutral palette sets the scene and striking floating shelves serve as the central storage in this space. Here, ornate detailing shines through the architecture and regal doorways with original woodwork. A stone-coloured wall adds to the earthy charm of this room. Contact: Plascon Via
