Plascon House Tour: A Cosmopolitan Retreat

This light-filled residence underwent a full renovation to connect the indoor spaces with a gorgeous tropical garden that adds to the style and cosmopolitan feel of this interesting abode.

The owners incorporated an array of furniture that includes old pieces and new trendier items and finishes throughout. This play on old and new works well to bring balance to this home – creating an ideal lived-in space that is both functional and stylish. The floors throughout this home comprise a self-levelling resin coated concrete. It gives the house a modern, clean and urban feel that is perfectly on trend and a beautiful feature in a contemporary abode. We love the black accents used in the kitchen, from the lighting pendants to the bar stools found around the kitchen benchtop. The kitchen also overlooks the main attraction – a lush garden that feels almost tropical in nature and is a wonderful addition to this modern abode. A wrap-around deck and sunken garden are the epitome of stylish outdoor living and create an ideal outdoor retreat for entertaining. We love the flow from the kitchen to the deck – a seamless extension of the indoor spaces to the exterior of this home. The bathroom is modern and minimalist in white and we can’t help but feel inspired by the beautiful choice of flooring that adds a contemporary twist here. The pattern is mesmerising and creates a wonderful statement in this light-filled bathroom. The bedroom is simple and serene and we love the choice of layout with the bed as the main feature in the centre of this space.
