Plascon House Tour: A City Duplex
Today’s magnificent Scandinavian styled duplex is like a breath of fresh air. This restful residence comes alive in neutral colours and modern finishes, with an eclectic mix of furniture and bursts of greenery in every space.
In a duplex, space is often an issue but this beautifully styled space is no bigger than 100m2 and yet does not feel closed in or overcrowded. On the contrary, the softer shades, striking windows and simple layout add to the feeling of space and peace in this home.
Wooden flooring brings symmetry to this entire duplex, and the rich wooden tones work beautifully with the neutral shades used throughout this home. Widened doorways lead from one area to the next, allowing for easy flow and a more spacious environment between the living and dining rooms. A mix of wooden chairs add character and a striking chandelier brings the room together in true style. From the other end of the room, we are pulled in towards the darker, moodier shades of charcoal cabinetry in the kitchen. The colours and modern appliances create a dramatic and bold area that is simply stunning. High ceilings and open shelves add to a more industrial ambience, with spotlights on the ceiling for added illumination. The living room has a softer feel, with plush textiles and softer tones that add to the peacefulness of this space. The focus here is definitely the high windows – a wonderful addition to this gorgeous family home. We also love the simple layout and minimalism of this space, with added pops of greenery in plants scattered throughout this room. Hints of brown leather, a textured rug and wooden furniture complete this space in true Scandinavian style. The bedroom is calming in shades of greige (the new beige and grey combined). A stunning feature bed with customized cabinetry ensures maximum storage and a perfectly styled space. Contact: Plascon Via
