House Tour: Future Gothic
Dark in nature with sexy silhouettes, this house tour takes a moody tone with variations of a charcoal-inspired greys and flat, matte black that create a bold contrast throughout the space.
A dark and bold colour palette such as this can be risque in that the perfect balance is a little tricky to achieve. Lighting is obviously the deal breaker in a futuristic Gothic space such as this.
Here we see interesting lighting details, among them a metal ‘rattan’ style light that casts splattered light throughout the home. We love the dangling, industrial feel of the dining room lights- a casual reference to old-style Brutalism.
Sparse ornamentation and striking artwork compete to round off this classic look. Brushed metallic elements assist in warming the space, as well as the balcony seating area, where a dusty pink scatter cushion and textured rug hint at a Scandinavian history.
