Plascon House Tour: An Apartment overlooking Barcelona
With stunning views of the city, this striking Barcelona apartment boasts a playful use of materials and colour with large windows that beckon the outside city life indoors.
The living room is an aspirational retreat where outdoor and indoor living blend together. Large windows give it an indoor patio feel that we love, with an abundance of greenery to connect the natural world with the world of interior design. We also quite simply adore the bursts of colour in this vibrant space, with a colourful mix of chairs around a central table, and modern matte black pendants suspended from the ceiling. Pops of yellow, white, red and green (from the plants) are used as accent colours here. This space is truly a celebration of outdoor living, colour and greenery. A feature brick wall with modern art adds depth and texture to this room, while a modern grey sofa system acts as a grounding piece of furniture that complements the colour palette of the home. And how retro is that old-school television unit on the server cabinet in the far corner? The kitchen is less eclectic but takes on a design style of its own, with white as the prime colour here. Striking hexagonal tiles make a bold feature in the kitchen and the playful flooring pattern creates a quirky yet trendy contrast between the darker wooden tones and white tiles. We also love how the hexagons extend all the way up the central kitchen wall column. Ang again, we feel connected to nature with an abundance of plant life on display here. In shades of white, the bedroom is fresh and calming with simpler rustic elements that add charm, including a minimalist wooden ladder as storage rack. A gorgeous fabric headboard creates a breathtaking backdrop in this room – the pattern adds colour and definition in this room that is beautifully complemented by a textured throw at the end of the bed.
