Spotlight: Fechters
Situated in Knysna, George, Fechters is synonymous with quality timber furniture.
Established in 1936, the company has served as a custodian of both the land and its customs for decades, employing time-honoured construction techniques to craft superior-quality products from locally sourced timber.
Today, Fechter’s enjoys a loyal customer base and national success with a vast network of dealers across South Africa stocking their indoor and outdoor furniture ranges.
In addition to their ready-made pieces, Fechteres also offer “bespoke furniture design services that help you turn your dream piece of furniture into a reality,” explains the company.
“After discussing your requirements, our design team designs your bespoke, made-to-measure furniture using CAD software packages. We then supply drawings and a detailed quotation.
“The result is a truly unique and individual piece of furniture that will be a pleasure to own.”
And to complement their unique pieces, Fechter’s has also branched out into interior design.
“Complementing our bespoke furniture design service, our Knysna showroom offers a turn-key interior decorating service, headed up by an experienced interior design team. Our interior décor studio comprises a wide selection of the latest fabrics represented by the leading fabric houses,” explains the company.
“Our interior decor team consults with customers to assess individual needs and expertly guides them through colour scheme consultation, space planning, window coverings and upholstery.”
Customers are welcome to visit the original Fechters showroom situated at 26 Main Street, Knysna, to view Fechter’s range of items, visit a dealer or shop online.
