True Design Cassina
Established in 1927 by Cesare and Umberto Cassina in Meda, Italy, Cassina has been at the forefront of design innovation since the 50s when it first introduced industrial design to the Italian furniture market, combining technology and long-standing artisan craftsmanship. Explore more with True Design.
Today, the luxury furniture company still sets the pace with novel designs, material applications and manufacturing techniques.
Reinvention also forms part of its approach to innovation, with popular designs often receiving makeovers to better suit contemporary lifestyles. The latest such reinvention is the Trampoline Outdoor range.
“We have relooked our Trampoline Outdoor range with Africa in mind,” says the company.
“To better compliment the continent and its vibrant culture, we’ve added new exciting colourways and opted for materials that are suitable for outdoor use, such as weather-resistant frames and high-quality outdoor fabrics for cushions and upholstery.
“We’ve also included Cassina’s signature rope detailing on the furniture to add texture and visual interest.” Designed by Patricia Qurquiola, the reinterpreted offering also features authentic African touches such as tribal and batik patterns on cushions and throw pillows made from mud-cloth textiles.
Cassina is locally available at True Design. Stockists of the finest authentic designs, True Design represents several premium international brands in South Africa. “Our brands are a true reflection of success each with their own rich history, pioneering the trends of design and product technologies,” notes True Design.
