Studio Masson’s Flagship Showroom: Where French Design Meets Italian Surface Innovation
In Paarden Eiland’s evolving design district, Studio Masson’s new flagship showroom unfolds as an immersive expression of material mastery and refined living. Spanning 1,200 square metres, the space brings together over three decades of expertise in luxury surfaces – porcelain slabs, mosaics and engineered timber flooring – within an environment that feels less like a showroom and more like a considered architectural narrative.
While the innovative surfaces of Iris Ceramica Group, SapienStone and Boen form the architectural backbone, the presence of Roche Bobois animates the space with lived-in sophistication. The celebrated French maison’s avant-garde collections do more than furnish the showroom – they articulate its atmosphere, introducing movement, comfort and sculptural presence among the sleek European finishes.
The Mah Jong bed by Hans Hopfer and Marco Fumagalli anchors the bedroom setting as a bold, modular statement, its layered geometry softening the precision of surrounding surfaces. Nearby, the Astrea armchair and Spoutnik lounge chairs by Sacha Lakic introduce dynamic curvature, while Philippe Bouix’s Envergure sofa offers generous proportion and relaxed elegance, inviting pause within the gallery-like environment.
Smaller accents deepen the dialogue. Daniel Rode’s Cuba Libre bedside tables flank the bed with graphic clarity, while Cédric Ragot’s punctuates living areas with fluid form. The Rays floor lamp by Marta Bakowski casts sculptural light across porcelain backdrops, and Vanessa Mitrani’s No Limit vase and Giacomo Garziano’s Poloygonia objects add a layer of collectable artistry.
This interplay between French furniture design and Italian surface innovation transforms the showroom into a complete lifestyle destination. Alongside Antoniolupi bathware, Gessi tapware and Officine Gullo kitchens, curated South African artworks and local design pieces introduce warmth and narrative depth.
At Studio Masson, materials do not stand alone. They are inhabited, softened and defined by Roche Bobois furnishings, proving that true luxury emerges when surfaces and furniture converse in harmony.
