KARE Design at Maison & Objet 2026: 45 Years of Expressive, Character-Driven Interiors
As the 2026 design calendar opens in Paris, KARE Design returns to Maison & Objet with a milestone worth celebrating. Forty-five years on, the brand remains unmistakably itself: bold, expressive, and driven by the belief that interiors should reflect personality rather than prescription.
KARE’s presence at the fair reads as both a retrospective and a forward glance. New collections, seasonal highlights, and clear trend statements reinforce an identity that has resisted dilution for decades. Functionality is a given; what elevates the work is emotional charge. These are pieces designed for those who see furniture not as backdrop, but as self-expression.
In its anniversary year, KARE uses Maison & Objet as a platform for dialogue, inviting partners, press, and clients to engage with design as a living, evolving conversation. The focus for 2026 is clear: furniture with character. Living trends balance calm with confidence, pairing natural materials and architectural forms with expressive surfaces and colour.
Travertine takes centre stage as a material language of the moment. Soft beige tones, mineral-inspired textures, and sculptural silhouettes create interiors that feel grounded yet contemporary. The Gloria Travertine range leans into this aesthetic with bold proportions and clear lines, giving dining and living spaces a composed, architectural presence.
Elsewhere, contrast drives energy. The Glossy collection introduces gently rounded forms finished in warm taupe high-gloss, delivering modern elegance with a sense of lightness. Ruben explores structure and texture through vertically articulated wood-look surfaces paired with stone-inspired tabletops – versatile pieces that transition effortlessly between living, dining, and working environments.
For those drawn to bolder expression, Eliano and Stucco bring colour, rhythm, and pop sensibility into play. Rounded, sculptural forms and high-gloss finishes transform furniture into statement objects, confident and unapologetic. This expressive approach reaches its most iconic point in the collaboration with Karim Rashid, where colour and form are treated as emotional language rather than ornament.
At 45, KARE Design shows no interest in quiet restraint. Instead, it continues to champion interiors that are layered, joyful, and deeply personal, proof that individuality, when well designed, never dates.
