Resilient by Design: Pianca at Milan Design Week 2025
Adapting and innovating to remain at the forefront of contemporary design, Pianca returned to Fuorisalone at this year’s Milan Design Week with a new showcase entitled “Resilient by Design and Nature” – a theme that explored the intersections of design, culture, and sustainability. Embracing resilience as both a concept and a commitment, the company used the occasion to reflect on its own identity, drawing from tradition, innovation, and a design vision shaped by purpose and progress.
The Pianca & Partners showroom on Via Porto Tenaglia, in the heart of Milan, served as the vibrant backdrop for the brand’s showcase. Spanning two levels, the space was thoughtfully reimagined by Calvi Brambilla and Partners to echo the ethos of the exhibition.
At the centre of attention were the latest creations by renowned designers Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez, Pier Luigi Frighetto, and Zanellato Bortotto – each piece presented as both a functional object and a narrative expression. Visitors experienced a curated display of Pianca’s evolving collections, including expanded day and night systems featuring new modules and versatile configurations.
For the first time, the showroom also embraced an artistic dimension, unveiling an immersive video installation by French-Iraqi architect and artist Estelle A. Alanbari. Drawing on themes of resilience and sustainability, the work invited guests to pause, reflect, and engage with design as a medium for deeper contemplation.
