Minimal design meets function.

Makers of contemporary lightweight concrete dining and patio tables, Float has quickly made a name for itself on the South African decor scene.

“Our contemporary dining room table collection defined by excellent craftsmanship is handmade in South Africa. Create a welcoming and entertaining space with our modernist range. Minimal design meets function in your dining area.

Based in Johannesburg, the company offers a solid selection of designs for clients to choose from – all handmade by experienced craftspeople at its factory and characterised by minimalist lines and high functionality.

This includes the Xavier dining table – a contemporary symmetric design inspired by minimalism and the cross – and the Revolve dining table with its steel base.

“The stand-out functional features are ample clearance for legs and feet,” says Float of the Xavier design. “The geometry in its simplest form was a marker for balance and strength. The table is classical yet with a sophisticated touch and feel.”

“Revolve, on the other hand, is a contemporary table inspired by the age-old weave tracing back to neolithic times. Pivoting around its centre axis enhances the natural displacement of negative space. This handcrafted table with its simple yet spectacular proportions will be the centre of attention in any space. This table will turn heads.”

Other popular designs include the Romi circular dining table with its wood base, the chunky Osborn coffee table and the mixed-material Kasino coffee table with its sleek, minimalist lines.

All Float’s concrete tables are available in a variety of sizes, as well as four concrete shades (Concrete Grey, Smoke, Gunmetal or Graphite, although custom colours can be requested) and two finishes (polished or natural).
