Me-Time by Garcia Cumini: A Sculptural Sofa Designed for Slower Living

With Me-Time, Garcia Cumini has crafted more than a sofa—it’s a sculptural invitation to pause. Designed for Moroso, this piece reimagines the domestic setting as a sanctuary, where form meets the pleasure of tranquillity.

Softly sculpted and generously proportioned, Me-Time turns any interior into a personal haven. As Vicente García Jiménez and Cinzia Cumini describe it, “Me-Time is a silent but irresistible invitation to relax, to wind down and sink into its sculptural softness.” The sofa’s contours are deliberately welcoming, designed not only for the body but also to harmonize with the room around it—transforming space into a cocoon of serenity.

Garcia Cumini brings their multidisciplinary approach to life here, merging comfort, memory, and modern design. The fabric does more than cover; it becomes an emotional cue—an evocative surface that speaks to nostalgia and sensory pleasure.

What distinguishes Me-Time is its nuanced distortion of form. Inspired by a familiar archetype and gently projected into a contemporary context, the sofa carries a sense of subtle evolution. Its shapes appear to overflow—like a soufflé rising beyond its mould—yet remain balanced and deliberate. Armrests melt into the seat, surfaces undulate softly, and the chaise longue in particular embodies this “overflow” aesthetic, where the cushion spills over its frame in a gesture both tactile and expressive.

In Me-Time, functionality meets feeling. It’s not just a place to sit, but a space to retreat—where time stretches, and the everyday fades quietly into comfort.
