Knoll is a modern-day classic
With cool, clean lines, the new contemporary-style Lissoni Outdoor Collection by Piero Lissoni for Knoll is a modern-day classic.
Reflecting a sober, elegant style, the collection which consists of two- and three-seater sofas, armchairs, stools and coffee tables in several shapes and sizes, drew inspiration from the iconic Knoll 1966 Collection – the first contemporary line for outdoor use.
As Knoll notes: “What stands out is the contemporary design and modernist style typical of Knoll’s historic 1966 Collection by Richard Schultz, which inspired the architect and which he reinterpreted in a modern key: Piero Lissoni’s Outdoor Collection is distinguished by its lines.”
“In addition, the micro-perforated pattern on the back of the sofa and armchair’s backrest catches the eye and defines its contemporary aesthetic, while the large cushions and upholstery of the seats ensure an absolute level of comfort and informal relaxation.”
The Lissoni Outdoor Collection pieces feature aluminium frames, available in white, onyx or dark red, and removable seat and back cushion covers.
The Lissoni Outdoor Collection will join the Richard Schultz 1966 Collection, the Bertoia Collection for Outdoor designed by Harry Bertoia and the Saarinen Collection for Outdoor designed by Eero Saarinen as part of Knoll’s designer offering for outdoor living.
In addition to the new Lissoni range, the 1966 Collection has also been updated with new colourways (the 1966 square or rectangular table with porcelain steel top, the 1966 chair, with or without armrests, the 1966 chaise longue, with or without adjustable back, the 1966 armchair and the 1966 square end table are now available with dark red, white or onyx colour frames).
Knoll is locally available at Inova Contracts, a supplier of quality, design-led indoor and outdoor furniture to the South African market.
