Introducing Progetti di design 05
Introducing Progetti di design 05 – the latest Italian design catalogue by Pianca.
Synonymous with Italian flair and flexible, mobile designs, Pianca is world-renowned for its highly adaptable furniture designs.
“We love design capable of adapting to the flow of a changing world and the flexible people living in it,” explains the company. “Our approach to design aims at customising products and places to meet the needs of people whose lifestyles are based on flexibility, mobility and change but who still want to feel at home no matter what.”
And their latest collection, Progetti di Design 05, is no exception to this.

Building on the company’s vision of adaptable, sustainable design, the new collection puts specific focus on form, process and material.
Some of the pieces that best encapsulate this design ethos are the Naan armchair by Feredica Biasi – a classic, elegant chair with an appealing, compact volume and soft, delicate contours – and the Peonia and Calatea collections by Cristina Celestino.

The Peonia collection consists of a sofa, peninsula and armchair, all with soft, organic shapes. “It unfolds like a flower in springtime,” says the company of the collection. “Nature provides the creative inspiration for this product. The shell of the armchair has different surfaces, arranged in an evocative crescendo like the petals of a corolla, while the modular geometric forms allow infinite combinations to be created.”
Also inspired by nature, the Calatea collection consists of a striking armchair and pouffe. “The armchair backrest has a distinctive small cleft on the upper section of the backrest,” explains the company of the unique design. “And the matching pouffe is a very versatile piece of furniture.”

Pianca is available through Maldini South Africa.
