Colour Cabinet collection by Belgian designers Muller Van Severen for Hay
Bold, vibrant, and effortlessly cool, the Colour Cabinet collection by Belgian designers Muller Van Severen for Hay presents a minimalist design wrapped up in a playful splash of colour. Adding an exciting dimension to an otherwise mundane item, these floor-standing and wall-hanging cabinets redefine storage with a sleek, functional aesthetic that highlights the beauty of contrasting materials and tones.
Crafted from FSC-certified, organically dyed Valchromat, customers can choose between several configurations (media console, single wall-mounted unit, or spacious multi-shelf cabinet with sliding glass doors) in a range of mono- and multi-colour options to suit any space.
Muller Van Severen was founded in 2011 by the Belgian artist duo Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen. The couple has always been passionate about creating visually striking furniture pieces that blur the line between design and art, drawing inspiration from architecture and various materials. They have received numerous awards and collaborated with prestigious museums worldwide, including the Vitra Museum, Centre Pompidou, and Musée des Arts Décoratifs Paris, as well as international galleries like Galerie Kreo, Side Gallery, and Valerie Traan Gallery. For HAY, Muller Van Severen has designed the Two-Colour, Ceramic Table, Colour Cabinet, MVS Cutlery, and the Arcs collection.
Hay is locally available through Inova Contracts, a local stockist of design-led furniture for discerning South African buyers.
