The Insula modular sofa is Patricia Urquiola’s updated take on the traditional seating found in Arab majlis, where community members gathered to discuss events and local matters, receive and entertain guests and friends. It takes the form of a low, rational modular sofa in smooth shapes with a roll backrest, serving as the design focal point which accentuates the horizontal. It combines carefully balanced proportions as an architectural element that can be subtly integrated. Each Vero table is a unique, one-off work of art, created from twin planks of solid wood carved from the central section of the same trunk and joined together using special handmade joints. The edges of the Walnut or Oak planks are those of the trunk they are carved from, for an irregular, natural effect that is extremely pleasant and distinctive.

Inspired by the water lily, the Teratai sofa’s organic perfection is the result of a lot of handiwork and patience: In order to realise the ambitious cut – softly indented, sometimes over an edge, rounded here, smooth there but not too tight – every single piece of cloth received a lot of care, like the carefully constructed seems that traverse through the armchair like veins through a leaf, giving it volume and structure.

The elegant Sensei console with its deep black lacquered metal structure and wooden top, black open pore stained ash shelf and back, and wooden top in the exclusive finish “Rosso Marte” is a true masterpiece.
