Branch Table Lido by Jakob Wagner: Sculptural Outdoor Design in Iroko Wood
The Branch Table by Danish designer Jakob Wagner has long been admired for its sculptural clarity and organic intelligence. Now, the design is reintroduced in a refined outdoor edition – Branch Table Lido – where craftsmanship, materiality, and movement come together in a piece that feels both architectural and grounded in nature.
Presented in an extraordinary new version, the Branch Table Lido features a tabletop crafted from solid iroko slats. Known for its durability and natural resistance to the elements, iroko brings warmth, texture, and a quietly luxurious presence to outdoor settings. The finely worked slats celebrate the beauty of natural wood while offering a surface designed to weather gracefully over time.
The table’s distinctive base remains its defining feature. Crafted from matt white painted die-cast aluminium, the structure is composed of identical ramified elements that interconnect in continuous, flowing movement. Much like the branches of a tree, the base creates a sense of rhythm and balance, lending the table a strong visual identity without overwhelming its surroundings. It is this interplay between structure and softness that gives the Branch Table its unmistakable personality.
Available in two dimensions, the Branch Table Lido translates one of Cappellini’s most successful indoor designs into an outdoor context with ease. Whether positioned on a terrace, poolside, or in a garden setting, it brings a refined design language to open-air living – equally suited to intimate gatherings or larger, social moments.
Jakob Wagner’s design approach is rooted in both engineering precision and poetic form. Born in Copenhagen and trained across Europe and the United States, his work has earned international recognition and forms part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. For Cappellini, the Branch Table stands as a testament to his ability to merge innovation with timeless appeal.
The Branch Table Lido is locally available from True Design, offering a sculptural anchor for contemporary outdoor spaces where design ensures a lasting impression.
