Boffi Italian Craftsmanship
Combining Italian craftsmanship with the vision of iconic designers, Italian design studios Boffi and DePadova have long been at the forefront of furniture trends.
The studios’ ingenuity and creativity were recently recognised at the Archiproducts Design Awards in the Furniture and Finishes categories.
The Antibes System, a flexible shelving-bookcase system characterised by panels that are all equally thick yet have different widths, was recognised for its smart, stylish design, while DePadova’s Honoré Sofa by Elisa Ossinowalked away with the Archiproducts Design Awards 2023.
Made up of a sofa, pouffe and coffee tables “characterised by organic shapes that express an understanding of a natural and minimalist design approach”, the Honoré range offers a complete furniture solution that is at once unique, stylish and functional.
“The sofa, winner of the Archiproducts Design Awards 2023, has a remarkably original profile that is achieved by combining the curved lines of the seat and backrest, which is marked by the circular roller. The turned wooden feet are a distinct marker and call attention to the importance of craftsmanship,” explains the studio.
Meanwhile, the Antibes System is characterised by “stylistic research and compositional flexibility thanks to thicknesses, widths and shelving together with the integration of doors in aluminium and glass. Aesthetic and functionality come together with the addition of specific accessories: the contrasting lacquered ‘L’ elements are available in different heights depending on which module they are used for and create an interplay of colour and movement to highlight the system’s elegance and architectural component,” explains Boffi of the smart, customisable design.
