Cattelan Italia’s Latest Lighting Collection Lands at Maldini
Cattelan Italia continues to push the boundaries of functional design with its newest lighting collection – a series of sculptural lamps that seamlessly blend traditional craftsmanship with modern elegance.
Leading the lineup is Diploma, a striking floor lamp unveiled at Salone del Mobile.Milano. Inspired by the golden ratio and the graceful curve of a parchment scroll, Diploma is handcrafted in clay and finished with warm LED illumination. Its soft, ambient glow brings a refined sense of calm to any interior.
Joining Diploma is Wanted, a luminous piece shaped by the intricate balloton technique. This faceted crystal lamp plays with light and shadow, while its translucent edges lend a surprising softness to the solid material, like glass caught in an embrace.
Pigalle draws on the vibrancy of its namesake Parisian district. Also crafted using traditional Venetian glassmaking, it features two decorative techniques: one with an etched, misty gradient and the other highlighting the hallmark three-dimensional pattern of balloton artistry. The result? A dynamic lamp full of character and depth.
Continuing the Parisian theme, Paris evokes floating elegance. With cloud-like, spherical lampshades and acid-etched finishes that fade gently upward, this lamp captures a sense of movement and modularity, each composition uniquely customisable.
Finally, Aladdin celebrates Murano mastery through layered glass techniques. With endless configuration options – suspended or standalone – its milky, shaded finish invites a quiet play of light and shadow.
More than just illumination, this collection is a celebration of craftsmanship, creativity, and light as a form of art.
