The new pieces by Vico Magistretti, Gio Ponti, Carlo Scarpa and Charles and Ray Eames continues the design legacy of the collection.
“The Cassina iMaestri Collection was officially presented in 1973 with the inclusion of models by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld and Charles Rennie Mackintosh,” says Cassina.
The new additions were carefully selected to complement the existing range if iconic furniture pieces in the range, including models designed by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand.
As such, a new version of Vico Magistretti’s Maralunga 50 armchair was included in the collection.
“Available for a limited time only, this new version of the armchair and the two or three-seater sofa has been dressed in nubuck leather in the Maralunga 50 colour, a particular shade of red that was very dear to Magistretti,” explains the company.

“A true hallmark of the architect, red was a constant throughout his life and career, from the socks he often wore to it becoming a symbol of his nonconformism in the design sector.”
Also included in the collection is Gio Ponti’s iconic Principi chair (available in four elegant shades) and a limited number of Carlo Scarpa’s Doge Laguna dining table with its textured glass top.
In anticipation of the launch of their 2024 lighting collection, Charles and Ray Eames’s Galaxy lamp was also included in the collection.
Cassini is locally available at True Design.
