Autumn Colour Inspiration from Plaisir Du Jardin!

It seems like just the other day that we were celebrating the Festive Season, and already the Easter Bunny is hopping our way. Despite the still hot and humid days we are experiencing, Autumn is here. It’s time to admire our changing surroundings and welcome this beautiful season. Autumn is one of the most pleasant times of the year with its milder temperatures and rich changing colour schemes.

Nature will certainly be in tune with 2024 Earth Tone colour trends, so let’s get out into the great outdoors and find our inspiration with Plaisir Du Jardin.

The Balad Light

The Balad emblematic model of the Balad collection, the H25, created a revolution in the world of outdoor lighting. Innovative, smart, and stylish, it has all the right qualities.

Created by designer Tristan Lohner, the concept of the portable lamp aims to fulfil our nomadic ambitions for freedom. From drinks on the balcony to a picnic on the beach, this portable lamp can be taken literally anywhere. And that is probably one of the reasons for its popularity!

Initially designed for outdoor use, the Balad H25 lamp soon found its place indoors too. Having seen this new use that you found for it, Fermob decided on a reinterpretation of the decorative portable lamp, making it even more suited to the world of interior design. Making the most of the trend for natural materials, the Balad H25 Bamboo has been given a bamboo handle. This ergonomic, headphone-style handle, the signature element of the Balad collection, means you can pick up and set down your led lamp wherever you want with the utmost ease. From the bedroom to the living room, the Balad H25 Bamboo will be your faithful companion!

The choice of bamboo, a robust and responsibly sourced material, highlights the commitment to sustainable consumption. The Balad H25 Bamboo even comes in eco-responsible kraft packaging. A true all-round winner, thank you Fermob!

Something New

The Durham Dining Collection has just arrived in the Cape Town branch at Plaisir du Jardin.

The Durham Collection

Designed and manufactured by a favourite Belgian supplier, this collection brings the freshness of Earth tones to the mix. The Durham collection also brings the best of both worlds: functional design with a comfortable seating experience. These fresh-looking chairs require no cushions to make them superbly comfortable. Being stackable, they’re easy to re-arrange depending on your desired setting. It’s a range of outdoor products made of lightweight aluminium with a rope-woven finish that elicits a beautiful aesthetic play of form and function.

Furthermore, 100% non-toxic Italian polyolefin fibre flat rope is created for indoor as well as outdoor use. Like no other synthetic or natural fibre, it’s resistant to fungus, bacteria, sunlight, humidity, chlorine, and food stains. It’s extremely lightweight, washable, environmentally friendly, and fully recyclable.

Aluminium is a great option too as it is as light as a feather and as strong as steel. It is also environmentally friendly as it can be easily recycled. It requires only 5% of the energy needed to produce the first primary metal to recycle it. In fact, 75% of all aluminium ever produced is still in use. So little maintenance is needed on both these materials and that makes the Durham Collection the perfect choice.

Well known for its potteries that produce colourful garden containers, the area known as Anduze in France has been supplying large-scale garden pottery to kings, queens, and garden aficionados for centuries. The technique of handmade pottery in this region is centuries old and was allegedly inspired by a Medici vase. The pieces are prized by collectors and often handed down in families, treated as precious garden heirlooms.
