Athens: Dine In An Open Air Museum With Pedrali
Pedrali furniture decorates Natu restaurant in Athens – the ideal spot to dine in an open air museum.
Nestled in the wonderful garden of Goulandris Natural History Museum in Athens, Natu Restaurant
is the new restaurant designed by Stones and Walls studio that blends creative Mediterranean cuisine with a contemporary and modern setting, while respecting the tradition and the philosophy of the museum. The restaurant welcomes its guests in a space which, thanks to the presence of exclusive artworks, seems to be a continuum of the museum experience.
Natu restaurant was designed to stimulate senses and to enhance every aspect of guests’ experience, offering them calmness and wellness.
Nature, from which stems the name Natu, is the main character, featuring the environment with a wide variety of plants: laurel, myrtle, pomegranate, lavender, and many other aromatic herbs typical of Greece. Natural elements like wood, linen, stone and ceramic, are employed for both the indoor rooms and the outdoor garden, while the chromatic palette recalls earth tones. The clean-cut forms enter
into the picturesque scenery of the flora through fluid transitions, evoking feelings of serenity and harmony.
The pleasant and relaxing outdoor is characterised a body of water with water lilies, cypresses, pines and olive trees casting shadows that host dining tables where you can sit to enjoy a break in a busy day or at the end of the museum tour.
Pedrali furniture fits into this unique natural setting. Placed in the outdoor garden, chairs, armchairs, barstools and tables of Nolita collection designed by CMP Design, have enhanced their markedly outdoor spirit. Completely made of steel, they are proposed in the sage green version.
Nolita is a family of outdoor seatings which recalls the origins of a historic course, started by Mario Pedrali in 1963 with his first metal garden chairs.
The collection seems to arise from the memories of a sunny and lively square, a timeless place, giving birth to simple and iconic shapes.
Nolita chairs and armchairs are matched with Ikon tables, designed by Pio and Tito Toso, here proposed in beige. Ikon is a table that speaks the language of architecture in its highest expression of simplicity and elegance.
Concrete tables, characterized by a base that, even optically, suggests a sense of stability, complete the indoor rooms of the restaurant.
