On the bench

The park b e nch, provides, not only the classic convivial seating arrangement in the garden, it is also the spot where you put your feet up in-between planting the bulbs and pruning the roses. Lemonade in hand, you keep vigil on the hadedas above. Available as a 2 or 3 seater, the bench without arms, is the perfect bench to slide onto at a smaller rectilinear table, where it will sit harmoniously with the park chairs.

Cousin to the park bench is the Florence bench. Find respite from the sun on this this elegant two seater in-between harvesting the olives or meet the African sunset with Prosecco for two and the saltiness of last year’s olives. Around a table this bench fits snuggly with the popular Florence chairs.

Looking for unapologetic hedonism we proffer the recliner bench, where 3 could sink into laziness or keep it intimate at just two. Add some cushions and you will need to ensure all snacks and aperitifs are on hand as no-one pops in and out of this bench. A selection of our occasional tables become the drinks and snack table. If you’re feeling less amiable the recliner chair is an excellent solitary friend to the bench.

Next in line is the trestle bench, less garden, less reclining and more lining the children in a row down the trestle table. The trestle bench is a handsome companion to the trestle tables, but works with all of our rectilinear traditional tables, and for that reason you can choose from a 1.5m to 3m length. In fact you can skip the table and use the bench against the wall on the stoep. A morning coffee with the hadedas or afternoon tea with, well probably with the hadedas again.

The rraditional range benches are available with galvanised or rust frames with natural massaranduba timber. Wood will mellow to an attractive grey colour over time. Painted options are also available – choose from 5 standard colours. See here for info on finishes.
