Jax Oleum
Summer’s around the corner and with it comes the promise of long, warm sunny days, time spent outdoors with family and friends and, in true South African fashion, long summer braais.
To make sure you and your deck are ready to entertain, Jax Oleum has launched its latest innovative product – an easy-to-use Deck Oil.
“Our deck oil is the latest urethane-modified oil technology providing optimum protection on hard and soft wood. The reactive urethane groups in the resin react with the lignin in the timber and together with the light-fast pigments, retard the degradation process,” explains Jax Oleum.
Available in 13 colours, including natural, white, black, bone and gunmetal, the deck oil can easily be applied in one go, with 1 litre of Deck Oil covering 20 to 40 square metres of wooden deck.
To get your deck in tip-top shape, simply follow these simple instructions.
- First, sand your wooden deck down to a smooth finish making sure all previous coatings are removed.
- Then use a damp cloth to remove all dust and other dirt particles.
- Ensure the deck is completely dry before you start applying the Deck Oil.
- To apply, shake the tin well and apply the Deck Oil with a fine pile roller, brush, soft cloth or a buffing machine.
- Allow the deck oil to soak in and dry for around 15 minutes.
- Remove the excess Deck Oil with a cloth or buffing machine.
- Leave the product to cure for 6 hours for light traffic, with no water-based cleaning for 14 days.
- Re-apply another coat three to six months after the first coat. Thereafter, reapply annually.
That’s eight easy steps for an entire summer of top-deck entertainment.
