When it comes to designing a backlit splashback, Union Tiles advises clients to highlight intricate tile patterns or natural stone finishes with LED lighting for a striking statement.

Depending on their style, homeowners can choose from various tile patterns, including a classic grid pattern, or herringbone design for a more dynamic and distinctive design. Finishes can also be customised for an eye-catching design. This includes pairing light bevelled-edge tiles with dark grout for a high-contrast, refined look or combining dark tiles and light grout – a sleek, minimalist option, black tiles paired with white grout can offer a bold statement while maintaining sophistication. Mirrored tiles are another great way to add another layer to the design; their reflective surfaces help bounce light around, making smaller spaces feel larger and brighter. This is an especially effective choice for areas near underlit cabinets, where the added reflections can create a more open, airy feel.

To further enhance the design, the team also advises customers to opt for colour-changing LEDs to switch between bright, energising tones for cooking and warm, cosy hues for gatherings.
