Textured Walls with the Terre Tile Collection | Tile House
In contemporary architecture, Tile House is seeing a shift towards a more sensory, tactile experience. Designers are increasingly looking for materials that provide a sense of groundedness and “soul”. The Terre tile collection leads this direction, with its reinterpretation of traditional clay and terracotta.
Aesthetics
The irregular finish is the standout feature of this collection. It is a three-dimensional, ribbed surface with a handmade aesthetic. It transforms a wall into a tactile canvas of light and shadow. The Terre Irregolo tiles introduce a rhythmic quality to a space, allowing varied light to reveal new depths and patterns on the surface.
Colours
At Tile House, two tonal expressions from the Terre tile collection have been curated.
- Terre Cotto Irregolo: This is a tribute to heritage with its warm, earthy pigment. It provides an organic weight to a room, grounding spaces and adding a textured, clay-like warmth to feature walls.
- Terre Bianco Irregolo: This is the off-white, contemporary interpretation of the classic terracotta tile. It offers a cleaner, neutral surface that highlights the intricate 3D ribbing of the Irregolo finish. It is the ideal choice for those seeking a minimalist aesthetic that feels soft, matte and incredibly tactile.
Size Formats and Finishes
Tile House currently holds stock of the Terre Cotto Irregolo 60x120cm and the Terre Bianco Irregolo 60x120cm sizes. These tile selections are available for immediate specification.
The larger formats minimise grout lines, creating a seamless appearance that enhances the irregular, handmade finish.
Visit the Tile House showroom in Paarden Eiland to experience the Terre Irregolo collection in person. Touch the surfaces, experience the play of light on the textures, and see how these Italian-crafted tiles can ground the next project with tactile beauty.
