Perched above the Indian Ocean on the Wilderness coastline, Views Villa is the latest luxury accommodation offering from Views Boutique Hotel & Spa. Designed as an exclusive private retreat, the villa caters to extended families, small groups and discerning travellers seeking the privacy of a luxury home with the personalised service of a five-star hotel.

The villa features five individually designed suites spread across three levels, with panoramic sea views or tranquil garden views of residential Wilderness. Guests have access to two fully equipped kitchens, spacious open-plan living and dining areas, and an outdoor entertainment space complete with a pizza oven, wood-burning braai and a private heated spa pool. The villa comfortably accommodates up to ten guests.

Explaining the vision behind the project, Views Boutique Hotel & Spa General Manager, Marsha Jansen van Vuuren, says: “Extended families and travelling with assistance have become more prevalent, and Views Villa presents the perfect way to bridge what we currently offer at Views Boutique Hotel and how we would like to cater for our guests’ changing needs.” She adds that “the Villa has allowed us to take our service and offerings up a notch.”

A Coastal Retreat Designed for Connection

Every design decision at the Villa was guided by a desire to create meaningful moments of connection, whether between family and friends or with the surrounding landscape. Contemporary coastal architecture, warm natural finishes and carefully layered interiors work together quietly, while allowing the ever-changing ocean views to remain the focal point. The result, according to Marsha, is “unabated luxury enveloped in tranquillity”. She continues, “our desire is that every guest feels like they have arrived…. in a way that speaks to their sense of belonging and intuitively knowing that this is their happy place.”

The Importance of Material Selection

During the renovation process, materials were selected to create a memorable first impression as well as for their durability through years of daily use. Stiles was selected as a key parter to supply tiles, tapware and sanitaryware across the kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, patios and outdoor living spaces.

Marsha explains that the ocean view was the greatest source of inspiration.  The design needed to be sympathetic to the vistas and not compete for attention. This restrained approach was employed throughout the interiors, where a neutral material palette creates a sense of calm while subtle details reference the surrounding landscape. Marsha describes the design as “classically sophisticated with surprising design elements, leaving the view to be the great showpiece.”

The San Lorenzo White tile provides a timeless foundation across the patios and balconies, while the bathrooms are wrapped in the large-format Dolomia White tile, whose subtle stone-look and semi-polished finish creates a calm, spa-like atmosphere.

Moments of texture and personality are introduced through carefully considered feature tiles. Funky Tiles’ Look Subway in Light Grey Gloss and Matt bring depth to the kitchen bulkhead.

Each bathroom has its own distinctive character, with feature walls created using Funky Tiles’ Ava Smoke, Ava Ocean and Arrow White. On the ground floor, the private ensuite becomes a tranquil green sanctuary with Funky Tiles’ Look Moss in both Gloss and Matt finishes. In the courtyard, the Colours collection in Red, Beige, Ivory and Salmon wraps around the existing milkwood tree, transforming it into a striking design focal point that celebrates both colour and place.

Luxury in the Details

Reflecting on the importance of investing in premium finishes, Marsha explains: “We have discerning guests. They have a refined palate. Premium finishes are not only beautiful but often practical, making our guest’s stay not only luxurious but easy.” After all, Marsha concludes: “every stay should be effortless”.

The team paid attention to how the guests would use and experience the Villa, adding Duravit smart toilets and Hansgrohe Croma Select S280 showers with both a thermostat and hand shower that allows the guest to customize their experience.  “Choice is the ultimate luxury,” Marsha adds.
