Stiles: Classic & Contemporary At The Augusta

The Augusta, an upmarket high-rise apartment block located in a prominent neighbourhood in Rondebosch, Cape Town, is one of Newland Developments’ brand-new completed projects.

Gavin Lay, Philip Nel and Alex Huber, the three-man team from Newland Developments created the Augusta with the purpose of providing luxurious accommodation to the Rondebosch area.

South African tile retailer, Stiles, designed a specific tile named the Stone Grey Augusta Rough 600x600mm to suit the classic contemporary look and feel of the apartment block. They also supplied several other tiles in the building. “Stiles provides a comprehensive range of tiles and have a solution for all our design requirements,” says Gavin Lay, Director at Newland Developments, “It made sense to engage with Stiles and procure all our tiles from them,” he adds.

Statuary Gloss 1200x600mm is used on all the kitchen and shower walls to complement the black and chrome coloured sanitary ware, and to create a luxury aesthetic in the bathrooms and kitchens.

Statuary Gloss 1200x600mm adorns the shower walls, while Black Board Natural Rectified is seen cut in a herringbone design on the shower floors.

Black Board Natural Rectified, an Italian import from Monocibec and exclusive to Stiles in South Africa is used on the bathroom floors and cut and laid to a herringbone design on the shower floors to further enhance the luxurious look and feel of each apartment’s interior.

Statuary Gloss 1200x600mm as seen on the walls, adds a luxurious aesthetic to the kitchen.

The custom Stone Grey Augusta Rough 600x600mm tile is used on the outside areas of the Augusta to showcase the classy and bold exterior of the building, while Naples Matt and Rough tiles are used around the pool area. To finish off the tile selection, Reverso Black 1200x600mm paves the entrances of the building, adding to the modern theme of the development project.
