Form Cement: Raw Elegance Meets Future-Forward Design
An Italtile Exclusive by Ceramica Sant’Agostino
Italtile introduces a bold reimagining of one of architecture’s most enduring materials: Form Cement, an exclusive, award-winning porcelain tile range by Ceramica Sant’Agostino. Honoured with the Archiproducts Design Award in 2020, this collection is more than just a cement-look tile — it is a tribute to the sculptural and expressive power of exposed concrete.
At the heart of the Form Cement range lies an appreciation for raw, intentional design. Drawing inspiration from exposed concrete — where the surface is deliberately left visible as a design element — Form Cement channels the aesthetic of traditional concrete cast against wooden formwork. The result is a visually rich texture, revealing the subtle grooves and grain of timber impressions, offering a tactile and architectural edge.
The resurgence of exposed concrete in the late 20th century came as a design counterpoint to the perceived delicacy of earlier architectural styles. In minimalist and modernist spaces, designers found strength, honesty, and striking beauty in what had once been considered “brutal.” Building on this idea, the design team at Sant’Agostino’s innovation lab developed Form Cement — a porcelain tile that balances industrial boldness with refined craftsmanship.
Measuring 600 x 1200mm, these large-format tiles allow for expansive visual storytelling. Advanced technology enables each tile’s surface to mimic the depth, pores, and natural imperfections of real cement, achieving a remarkable multidimensional finish on a flat porcelain base. The range offers an impressive 40 different faces, ensuring minimal pattern repetition and maximising authenticity.
Engineered for both residential and commercial applications, Form Cement is available in two finishes:
-
Natural R10
-
Slip-resistant R11
Each tile also features rectified edges, allowing for tighter joins, fewer grout lines, and a nearly seamless finish. In addition to its aesthetic advantages, the range is non-absorbent, hygienic, and boasts Class 5 foot traffic resistance—ideal for high-traffic, future-conscious environments.
And in line with Italtile’s commitment to sustainability, Form Cement carries the LiveGreen label, recognising its rigorous EcoQuality standards and low environmental impact.
Form Cement by Ceramica Sant’Agostino is more than a surface — it’s a statement. A raw, monolithic form, reborn through cutting-edge design and sustainability.
