Africotta: Considered. Handmade. Timeless
Africotta introduces two richly nuanced new tones alongside September offerings on two of its most-loved tile formats.
There is something enduring about a material shaped by hand.
Since 1986, Africotta has been pressing, curing and finishing every one of its handcrafted cement tiles by hand in Bloemfontein. This spring, the South African manufacturer marks a new milestone: two warm additions to its much-loved colour palette, accompanied by two extended promotional offerings running throughout September.
The latest shades, Copper Terracotta and Copper Terracotta Light, bring a distinctly earthy warmth to the Africotta collection.
Copper Terracotta is the deeper of the pair — rich and layered, with a molten quality reminiscent of polished copper caught in sunlight. Copper Terracotta Light offers a softer interpretation of the same warmth: quieter, airier and gently understated.
Drawn from the deepest hues of African earth, both colours are available across the entire Africotta tile range.
A STUDY IN PROPORTION
Coinciding with the new colour launch is Subway September, a month-long promotion dedicated to the Subway 360.
At 300 × 60mm, its elongated proportions create a particularly versatile architectural element. The format moves comfortably between running bond and herringbone, vertical stacks and considered contemporary offsets, allowing the same tile to assume distinctly different characters depending on its composition.
Throughout September, the Subway 360 is available from R390 per square metre in all twelve signature colours.
Its restrained proportions make it equally suited to residential builds, boutique hospitality spaces and private commissions — a simple format with considerable scope for expression.
THE SMALL DETAIL
Also continuing into September, by popular demand, is Africotta’s Kleine Klompie promotion, extended at its August price of R470 per square metre.
Slim and characterful at 230 × 35mm, the Kleine Klompie is made for the details that can quietly define a space. Feature walls and splashbacks, herringbone patios and more intricate applications all allow its distinctive proportions to come into their own.
It is a small-format tile with an instinct for making an impression without demanding one.
Two of Africotta’s most-loved tiles. Two new copper tones. One month in which colour, craft and proportion come together.
Handmade tiles. African soul. Timeless spaces.
