Louis Vuitton New Store

Adding another stylish jewel to its crown, Louis Vuitton recently unveiled its new Singapore boutique designed by Stéphanie Coutas.

The acclaimed French interior designer collaborated with the French fashion house to create the first “exclusive apartment retail space” in Takashimaya.

“The newly opened Apartment offers a carefully curated selection from across the Maison’s universes including Women’s & Men’s Ready-to-wear, formalwear and leather goods, as well as the notable inclusion of High Watchmaking, High Jewellery and Hard Sided creations,” explains Louis Vuitton.

“Entering the apartment, clients are warmly welcomed into a vestibule decorated with a collection of iconic Louis Vuitton trunks suspended by hot-air balloons. Here, they can delve into the DNA of the Maison, discovering exceptional archival pieces including a Monogram Hat Trunk, meticulously restored from 1924, upon which each Monogram was painted by hand.”

Just like the showpieces, the interiors, too, were meticulously crafted, combining craftsmanship, savoir-faire and the art of luxury living to create visually inspiring spaces, all decorated in the finest materials, textiles and furniture carefully selected by Coutas and created bespoke by French artists and designers.

In the main hall and gallery, visitors can browse the ready-to-wear collections alongside custom art in the form of finely handcrafted plaster Frangipani trees and a decorative Louis Vuitton Monogram Flower stone carpet made of Taj Mahal Serpeggiante and Marfil stone. Meanwhile, the three salons each offer a unique design.

“Step into the first and main salon to discover an elegant and feminine space adorned with a unique orange-hued gradient plaster named ‘Singapore Sunset’, skilfully executed by Atelier Martin Berger on site,” explains Louis Vuitton.

“In the second salon dedicated to the Men’s universe, design elements harmonise to captivate the senses, including a Damier plaster design that adorns the wall, a luxurious custom-made carpet with an imaginative design inspired by sea waves and Paldao wood cabinets which frame the Men’s Ready-to-wear collections. Clients are invited to relax on a spacious bespoke sofa covered in luxurious wool fabric or rest on a vintage Coetela armchair by Martin Eisler & Carlo Hauner from 1953.

The third salon is a dedicated space where High Jewellery and watches are presented with precious leather goods. Upon entering the space, clients can browse a collection of High Jewellery and High Watches on a beautiful Budri stone table with gloss cloches. A vintage 1970 chandelier is suspended from the ceiling; and on the focal wall, French designer Sophie Mallebranche’s metal-weaved panels highlight the watch and jewellery niches. The entire salon is covered with a special custom-developed Dornier plaster with gold powder by Duval & Mauler French Artisans while a modern art piece by American artist, Julia Pons adds a touch of colour to the elegant space.”
