Marutsca is a sustainable fashion brand that is based on the principle of ‘all you need is less’. Founder member and designer, Marutsca Breitenmoser, studied fashion design in Cape Town and went on to work as a fashion designer in Cape Town, London and Zurich. Her fiery passion for protecting planet earth and her love for natural fabrics and simple, chic design, all come together in the 100% natural linen Marutsca brand.

The linen is sourced from a small family-run mill in Spain that is at the forefront of the new slow fashion revolution with their fabric upcycling technology. The fabric has beautiful movement and shapes itself to your body. It breathes with you.

Working with the concept of ‘beach to boardroom’ the Marutsca collection has a staple collection that is always available and can be dressed up or down. From here new limited edition items are introduced, which can be paired with the base collection. These limited edition items are only available for a short period of time and are slightly more detailed in design.

The brand’s tagline, considered design, consciously made, comfortable fit’, really says it all. Not only are the clothes stylish and comfortable, it also takes a stand against the overwhelming consumer culture we live in. Getting dressed is something you do every day and here is a way to be a step closer to being kind to the earth through a simple, daily action.

Lead by the iconic Marutsca linen maxi dress, the staple collection for women includes a kaftan, box top and classical palazzo pants. For him there are linen pants and a légère shirt. The pirate shirt is unisex and doubles as a boyfriend shirt for her.
