T&Co Fabrics: Tanya’s Trend Experience
Fabric connoisseur and owner of T&Co Fabrics, Tanya Sturgeon, has a wealth of experience in the design and décor industry. After the International Fabric Fair Heimtextil In Frankfurt in January, Tanya was thrilled to share the latest global trends with us!
Here she brings us the best in fabric trends from around the world. Says Tanya: In a backsplash against excess mass production and fast consumption, there is a fresh appreciation of craft and artistry – and of well-made products with stories behind them. People are building a sense of attachment to the spaces where they live by purchasing carefully considered, skilfully made products with cultural significance. DIY culture is also thriving and many adults consider themselves lifelong leaners. Some of the trendsetters include: Lola Lely Studio London-based multidisciplinary designer Lola Lely puts process and narrative at the heart of her practice. She believes the creative journey is more important than the final outcome. Bristol Weaving Mill Innovative fabric design meets traditional manufacturing processes at Bristol Weaving Mill. The industry machinery at the mill has been selected with creativity and flexibility in mind, leading to boundless innovative woven textile design and production. More about T&Co: T&Co’s stylish showroom is based in the design hub of Kramerville, Sandton and is run by Tanya and daughter Chloe, who also shares a passion for fabric. The showroom is filled with vibrant colour, design and décor pieces. Clients are always welcome to pop in for a cup of coffee where they will get expert advice on how to make the perfect space in an office or home with the use of the right fabric.
