Italtile – The African Bird Fair 2021
In 2020, Africa’s fledgling Virtual African Bird Fair tested its wings for the first time. In spite of COVID-19 restrictions, the event was well-supported and necessary funds were generated for important conservation work. Judging by the success of the world’s first online African bird fair, the 2021 Virtual African Bird Fair is all set to fly high on the 30th and 31st July 2021, and Italtile is proud to join the flock of like-minded platinum sponsors once again.
The 2021 Virtual African Bird Fair will be using an amazing online platform which will enable a wide range of local and international specialists to present both pre-recorded and live talks. There will also be interviews, discussions, demonstrations and a quiz. Online ‘visitors’ will also be able to view exhibitions.
The virtual fair is being marketed globally and BirdLife South Africa is expecting interest from several thousand people.
At Italtile, the LiveGreen mandate is a commitment, not just to the environments in which they work, but also to outlying wildlife and conservation areas in need of protection and rehabilitation.
As a truly green, eco-friendly fair – where circumstances have, by necessity, reduced the carbon footprint – this is an event that resonates with Italtile’s sustainable practices. Conservation of our natural resources, once seen as ‘for the birds’ by many corporates, or at best a nice-to-have, is now a must-have component of corporate citizenship. It is a topic that remains front and centre in Italtile’s sustainable journey, and they are excited and heartened to play a part in the 2021 Virtual African Bird Fair.
This is a world-class local event that will inspire ever-wider audiences around the world to fall in love with all things avian in Africa, and help ‘give conservation wings’.
