VOX: An Inspired Room Setting At Decorex Joburg

A luxurious space for relaxation will drive the creative design from Vox Furniture as they breathe life into an apartment-style bedroom at this year’s Decorex Joburg.

The transformative nature of the room space will be artfully showcased in this year’s Bedroom Project, featuring at the 25th Decorex Joburg, sponsored by Plascon, taking place at Gallagher Convention Centre from 8 to 12 August.

As one of three bedroom setting Vox Furniture will present a unique space, in style and design with the #rhythmoflife theme forming a unifying connection that brings the spaces together.

“It’s always exciting discovering what the latest trends in style, colour and design are but to actually see them reflected in an interactive setting is truly sensational,” said Creative Director of Decorex, Anita Bloom. “We want to give visitors to this year’s milestone exhibition the chance to actually walk through these stylish bedroom designs and draw inspiration from the exhilarating #rhythmoflifetrends.”

“The bedroom is now a space where the bulk of our relaxation time is spent,” explained Yulande Roxburgh of Vox Furniture. “When not sleeping, we spend our time watching TV, reading, listening to podcasts, music or scrolling through phones. It is undeniably important to ensure that bedrooms are inspiring, luxurious and relaxing.”

Looking to 2018 trends, Roxburgh said deep, rich colours such as purple, emerald and midnight blue were prominent, with natural, lush greens used to encourage wellness. Soft pinks were also coming through, with a touch of warm coppers and golds.

“This look creates a mood of tranquillity and deep restoration,” she said, adding that the layering of textures was also trending. “Luxurious, opulent blankets and throws, velvets and furs – then throw in mood lighting – to really make the bedroom. We will bring this tactile element into the room using 100% cotton, machine-washable Lorena Canals’ Botanical Plants and Monstera rug ranges.”

Vox Furniture will draw on the essence of spring for this installation, focusing on lush, tropical greenery, blood orange, copper, gold and starlight express. This will exude their signature, clean-lined Scandinavian-styled furniture matched with contemporary, chic décor in striking setups.
