Event: Strauss & Co debut Pretoria auction
Date: 21 July 2024
A two-part live sale of collectable ceramics and modern and contemporary art to be held at the former home of cherished landscape painter J.H. Pierneef. Due to be held on Sunday, 21 July 2024, the two sales acknowledge the centrality of Pretoria in the story of South African art. The first sale, Sculpted Narratives: Contemporary South African Ceramics, includes high-end sculptural ceramics by artists such as Astrid Dahl, Andile Dyalvane, Ian Garrett, Frances Goodman, Nesta Nala, Hylton Nel, and Bonnie Ntshalintshali. The second sale, Pretoria Sale: Modern & Contemporary Art, features valuable works by Keith Alexander, William Kentridge, and Portia Zvavahera.
Event: Cook It and Mix It Yourself at the Good Life Show!
Dates: 26-28 July 2024
Taking place at the Kyalami International Convention Centre, The Good Life Show brings together the prominent ‘Plant Powered Show’ and the ground-breaking ‘Natural and Organic Show’ all under one roof, and will host numerous exhibitors, including those in the ‘Free-From’ and ‘Sustainable-Living’ sectors.

Event: Artful Women Behind the Stove and the Vine at Solo Studios 2024

Besides the power of art to move us, Solos Studios 2024 celebrates the power of women as artists, subjects, muses, gallery owners and curators. With such important artists as Sharon Bischoff, Emma Willemse, Lizette Visser, Caryn Dorrington and Hannelie Strydom, gallery owners Astrid McLeod of RK Contemporary and Mary Walker, one half of the team at Pictorex, there is strong female energy throughout the intimate art weekend in Riebeek Kasteel this Women’s Day Weekend on 9-11 August. This year, Solo Studios is going beyond the canvas to share other modes of expression: music, performance and of course, food and wine.
Event: Intertextile Shanghai Home Textile 2024

Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles is Asia’s leading home textile event which will be held on 14 – 16 August 2024 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), Shanghai, China. It is a dynamic platform for industry professionals to source and to gain design inspirations through the conveniently structured product displays and the fringe programme. In 2023, 1,035 exhibitors and 32,105 visitors joined the event.
Horst Expo 2024
Dates: 23 May to 8 September 2024
The inaugural edition of Horst Expo follows the theme To Have or To Hold, hosting site-specific installations at former military site Asiat Park. The exhibition spotlights the work of artists Afrah Shafiq, Luca Vanello, Maëlle Dufour, Rachel Daniëls, Sheila Hicks and Serban Ionescu, design collectives Every Island & Flore Fockedey and Stand van Zaken, and architecture studio Piovenefabi.
